Devils Sign Defenceman and Four Other Players
It was a busy day for the Devils yesterday, trading for Erik Haula and signing playoff hero Ondrej Palat. Those weren't the only signings the team made though.
The Devils signed defenseman Brendan Smith to a two-year deal, worth $1.1 million annually. Smith spent the 2021-22 season with the Hurricanes, scoring 4 goals and 4 asissts in 45 games. He finished with a plus/minus rating of 6. Smith will add some defensive depth to the Devils, as he is a good two-way defender and penalty kill specialist.
