Kings Re-Sign Veteran Defenseman
The Kings have signed Alexander Edler to a one-year, $750,000 contract extension
Edler just completed his first season with the Kings, and he did well when healthy. In 41 games, he scored three goals and recorded 19 points. Yet, a lower-body injury shortened his season. Thankfully that didn't impact the Swede's chance of landing a new deal, as he will be remaining in Los Angeles.
The Kings took a big step forward in 2021-22 and will be looking to continue to head in the right direction. Bringing back a 966-game veteran in Edler on such a cheap deal is a good way to help with that. Let's see how the 36-year-old performs from here.
