Kraken Sign Forward

The Kraken have signed John Hayden to a one-year, two-way contract. At the NHL level, he will carry a $750,000 cap hit. 

Hayden spent this past season with the Sabres. In 55 games on the year, he had two goals, two assists, and a minus-12 rating. Although he didn't contribute too much offensively, he was quite active in the physical side of the game - as evidenced by his 84 penalty minutes in 2021-22.

Hayden will be competing for a spot in Seattle's bottom six, but it seems more likely than not that he will either be an extra forward for them or down in the AHL. Either way, this is a decent depth signing for the Kraken.
