Maple Leafs Sign Defenseman

The Maple Leafs have signed Victor Mete to a one-year, $750,000 contract.

Mete spent this past season with the Senators. In 37 games with the team, he recorded seven assists and sported a minus-19 rating. Overall, it's fair to say that the 24-year-old had some struggles, but he will now be aiming to bounce back in 2022-23 as a Maple Leaf.

At a minimum, Mete will provide Toronto with a bit more depth on the blue line. In 236 career games between the Canadiens and Senators, he has five goals, 38 assists, and 43 points.
