Minnesota Wild Forward Placed On Unconditional Waivers

The Wild have placed Alexander Khovanov on unconditional waivers.

Khovanov was selected with the 86th overall pick of the 2018 NHL Entry Draft by the Wild. He just completed his first professional season in North America, where he split time in the AHL and ECHL. In 22 games with the Iowa Wild, he had one goal and four assists. In eight games with the Iowa Heartlanders, he recorded six points.

At this juncture, an exact reason for Khovanov's placement on unconditional waivers hasn't been announced. Perhaps a return to the KHL is on the horizon for the 22-year-old center, but time will tell on that front.
