New Jersey Devils Sign Defenseman To Long-Term Extension

The Devils have signed Jonas Siegenthaler five-year contract extension. He will carry a $3.4 million cap hit at the start of the 2023-24 season.

Siegenthaler truly had a breakout campaign with the Devils in 2021-22. In 70 games, he scored a goal and recorded 14 points. Although those offensive numbers may not stand out, his defensive play was excellent. This, in turn, has led to him landing this long-term extension. He should be a part of their top four for several seasons because of it.

It will be intriguing to see how this contract ages from here. With Siegenthaler being only 25 years and progressing, it could be an excellent deal for the Devils.
