NHL Rumors: 2 Teams Linked to Ryan Strome
Ryan Strome appears to be getting replaced by Vincent Trocheck on Broadway as the New York Rangers plan on moving in another direction. Strome now does too, and look for the free-agent center to hear from the Seattle Kraken and Detroit Red Wings once the market opens at noon on Wednesday.
Strome is a nice compliment second-line center who can play first power-play minutes. He's as smart and offensively gifted as they come, however his 200-foot game has been questioned at times. Last season he finished with 54 points in 74 games and another nine points in 19 Stanley Cup Playoff games.
The Kraken are likely going to be the highest bidder as they have prioritized finding ways to upgrade their offense after some head-scratching expansion selections. Strome has a very high hockey IQ and can elevate his game playing with offensively-minded players, so look for the Kraken to plug and play him on their top line in Seattle.
