NHL Rumors: 3 St Louis Blues Trade Candidates
The St Louis Blues are a team to watch this summer as some roster moves will continue. Management has started to make some bold changes by letting David Perron walk to free agency along with their trade of goaltender Ville Husso to the same Detroit Red Wings. The team has recently been linked to a blockbuster deal with the Calgary Flames for Matthew Tkachuk, and while they may be better suited to just wait and sign him next summer, the Blues have a number of players other teams would love to get their hands on:
Jordan Kyrou
One of the hottest names on the trade market, it seems like every big trade out of St Louis involves Kyrou going the other way. He's a 24-year-old speedy winger who can light up the score sheet in a hurry. The former second-round pick finished last season with 27 goals and 75 points in 74 games, a career-high season for the Toronto native. Make no mistake, if the Flames agree to move Tkachuk to the Blues, Kyrou will be target #1.
Torey Krug
The Blues tried to acquire Ryan McDonagh from the Tampa Bay Lightning which would have led to Krug being dealt. St Louis doesn't love his defensive abilities and have enough offense without him so look for a potential move this offseason. The 31-year-old is signed through the 2026-27 season and is coming off a year where he posted 43 points in 64 games. His full no-trade clause may be hard to get around but if someone tells you they'd rather not have you on their team, feelings can change rather quickly.
Vladimir Tarasenko
Depending on where the Blues sit mid-way through next season, the pending free-agent next summer could be dealt. There's been multiple conflicting reports about his desire to be in St Louis and perhaps a move even gets done as soon as this offseason. Despite some major surgeries the past couple of seasons, Tarasenko recorded 82 points in 75 games in 2021-22. His no-trade clause keeps the ball in Tarasenko's court when it comes to any move.
