NHL Rumors: 3 Teams to Watch in Ryan Strome Sweepstakes
If the New York Rangers let Ryan Strome hit free agency on July 13, the veteran center will have a couple of teams showing strong interest early on in the process. Here's two teams to watch when the market opens:
Seattle Kraken
The Kraken are expected to be aggressive again this summer as the team tries to find ways to create more offense. Strome is certainly one of their targets as he's someone who can play down the middle and on the wing. The soon-to-be 29-year-old recorded 54 points in 74 games last season and another nine points in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Seattle may be willing to pay a little less on a longer-termed deal which could entice Strome to sign on the dotted line.

Los Angeles Kings
Even with acquiring Kevin Fiala, Kings general manager Rob Blake is far from done. Strome is someone who could compliment Anze Kopitar and Phillip Danault nicely and give the Kings a nice trio of centers to work with for the foreseeable future. Strome is best suited on a second line and will be line for a decent raise on his $4.5 million salary from last season.

Carolina Hurricanes
If Vincent Trocheck leaves town, the Hurricanes could have a solid replacement in Strome, a player they are very familiar with. Trocheck is a little more rounded defensively, however some would argue Strome's offensive game has a much higher ceiling. With all the firepower up front, Carolina continues to look for another piece or two to add to their top-nine group. Keep an eye on the trickle down effect here should Carolina let some of their internal free agents walk on July 13.
