NHL Rumors: Avalanche Linked To Veteran Center

According to The Fourth Period, the Avalanche are interested in Claude Giroux.

Giroux was on the Avalanche's radar before the trade deadline passed, but the veteran of course end up in Florida. Yet, with the Panthers having limited cap space, Giroux's time with the team is likely over, which The Fourth Period mentions. Thus, perhaps Giroux would be willing to take a pay cut and play for the reigning champs from here.

It will be interesting to see if the Avalanche's interest in Giroux leads to anything happening. They have several other players they need to sign, but maybe GM Joe Sakic will have some tricks up his sleeve.
