NHL Rumors: Blackhawks Winger Done In Chicago
According to Mark Lazerus, the Blackhawks are not expected to send a qualifying offer to Dominik Kubalik. This will make Kubalik a UFA later this week.
The Blackhawks are already parting ways with Dylan Strome in this manner, so it isn't too surprising to see. There must not have been a trading market for Kubalik at this point, so the Blackhawks are now electing to simply move on from him.
It was a rough year for Kubalik, as he had just 32 points in 78 games. However, this is a player who is only two seasons removed from a 30-goal campaign. Thus, he has shown the ability to be a top-six winger in the past, so teams should be lining up to give him a chance. The Ducks and Oilers were previously linked to him, so let's see if one of them lands him this month.
