NHL Rumors: Chicago Blackhawks Reject Alex DeBrincat Trade Offer
According to hockey insider Elliotte Friedman, the Chicago Blackhawks received a strong offer for forward Alex DeBrincat but decided to reject the deal. Friedman mentioned the deal included a reasonably high first-round pick, another first rounder and a prospect for the sniper but decided to wait it out longer.
Friedman on 32TP says momentum is building for an Alex DeBrincat trade, he heard that one team offered a reasonably high 1st RD pick and another 1st RD pick and prospect, not a great prospect but a young player who could play and that wasn't enough to get it done.

Some teams rumored to be interested include the Detroit Red Wings who hold the 8th overall pick, the Buffalo Sabres who hold the 9th pick and the New Jersey Devils who currently are set to select 2nd in next weekend's draft.
DeBrincat is coming off a monster season, scoring 41 goals and 78 points in 82 games. He's set to make $6.4 million this season and is set to be a restricted free agent next summer. He doesn't hold any trade protection and the Blackhawks have made it loud and clear they are looking to cash in on the 24-year-old, much like they did in-season with Brandon Hagel.
Once DeBrincat gets dealt, look for Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane trade rumors to pick up in a major way. Kane of the two seems much more likely to be moved during next season or perhaps as early as this summer, with Toews more likely to play out his final season and move on next summer.
It seems inevitable that the Blackhawks are going to trade Alex DeBrincat. My 2 cents:

Bad move. He's only 24. He'll be a 35-45 goal scorer for years. He's growing as a leader. These guys don't grow on trees.
It's a big, big risk - one that isn't worth taking.
Normalize making Alex DeBrincat a Sabre

I remember a time 6 years ago when obvious 1st round talent Alex DeBrincat was taken in the 2nd round. Now he's worth possibly three 1st rounders. What a world. https://t.co/ragvfdSDFa
