NHL Rumors: Flyers Looking To Trade Defenseman
According to Stefan Rosner, the Flyers are trying to move Ivan Provorov.
Heard #Flyers are trying to move Provorov, JVR, and Konecny. #Isles need defense.

A move like this would make it difficult for #Isles to go after a Gaudreau, but would allow #Flyers the space to do so.
Not sure if that's an ideal scenario for LL.
Provorov has three more years left on his contract and carries a $6.75 million cap hit. Thus, if any team tries to acquire him, they would need to be okay with taking Provorov on for multiple seasons.
The Flyers are looking to have themselves a big summer but have under $120,000 worth of cap space. If they want to make a major splash in the free-agent market, players will have to be moved because of this. Thus, this is where moving Provorov could make sense for Philadelphia.
In 79 games last season, Provorov had nine goals, 22 assists, and a minus-20 rating. For his standards, it was a bit of a down year, but perhaps a change of scenery could help him regain his form. Alas, we will have to wait and see if the 25-year-old has a new home before the offseason is complete.
