NHL Rumors: Hurricanes Interested In Future Hall of Famer

Evgeni Malkin is on the Carolina Hurricanes' radar. According to The Fourth Period, the team is reportedly interested in signing the veteran center.

There have been rumblings that Malkin's time in Pittsburgh could be coming to a close. The future Hall of Famer is set to become a UFA in less than two weeks. Although he is getting up there in age, he is still excellent when healthy and would be a strong addition to any team's top six. That is certainly the case with the Hurricanes, too.

If the Hurricanes lose fellow pending UFA Vincent Trocheck through the open market, don't be surprised to see Carolina make a big push for Malkin.
