NHL Rumors: Islanders Shopping Veteran Forward
According to James Nichols of The Fourth Period, the Islanders are actively trying to trade veteran forward Josh Bailey.
This isn't the first time that Bailey's name has come up in the rumor mill. During the regular season, there were some rumblings about him potentially being dealt, but nothing came to fruition. Yet, with the Islanders having limited cap space and needing to make changes, it would make sense for them to move Bailey's $5 million cap hit.
Bailey has spent the entirety of his 993-game career with the Islanders. A 2008 first-round pick, the 32-year-old has developed into a solid two-way forward for the team. Interest in his services are reportedly rising, so perhaps we will see the Bowmanville native find a new home before the offseason is over. This is something we will have to keep an eye on from here.
