NHL Rumors: Kraken & Panthers Emerging As Potential Trading Partners
According to The Fourth Period, the Kraken are linked to Panthers forward Patric Hornqvist.
Hornqvist's name has been in the rumor mill since before the deadline. It is understandable why the Panthers are looking to move him, as he carries a $5.3 million cap hit. Florida doesn't have much money to work with this offseason, so moving Hornqvist's contract would be beneficial. The Kraken, on the other hand, have loads of cap space and are looking to improve their forward group. Thus, there could be a match here.
Hornqvist can still provide decent offense in the bottom six, and this year showed that. In 65 games, he scored 11 goals and recorded 28 points. With Seattle, he also would have the potential to play a bigger role due to their weaker forward depth.
Alas, we will have to wait and see if these two teams can finalize a trade before the summer is over.
