NHL Rumors: Lightning To Trade Veteran Defenseman
According to Elliotte Friedman, the Lightning are working with Ryan McDonagh to find him a new home.
McDonagh possesses a no-trade clause, so he has full control over whether or not he will be moved. However, with both he and the club working together to find him a new home, there certainly is a good chance that we see the 33-year-old dealt this offseason.
Lightning GM Julien BriseBois has made it known that he plans to re-sign Ondrej Palat, Nick Paul, and Jan Rutta this summer. Trading McDonagh's $6.75 million cap hit would help make that come to fruition, but man, would he be a big loss to their blue line.
