NHL Rumors: Sabres Interested In Bringing Back Defenseman

According to Lance Lysowski, the Sabres are "very interested" in bringing back Lawrence Pilut to their roster.

Pilut left the Sabres after the 2019-20 season to play in the KHL. However, the Sabres offered him a qualifying offer back then, so they still have control over his NHL rights. Pilut's contract in the KHL was recently terminated, so if the 24-year-old defenseman wants to return to the NHL, he will have to sign with the Sabres.

Pilut played 46 games over two seasons with the Sabres, where he had one goal and six points. It will be intriguing to see if he ends up returning to Buffalo from here. If he does, he will provide the Sabres with more depth and definitely could fight his way to a spot in their top six.
