NHL Rumors: Several Teams Targeting Maple Leafs Forward

According to Pierre LeBrun, close to half of the NHL will express interest in pending UFA Ilya Mikheyev this offseason.

Mikheyev is expected to hit the open market this summer after a very good 2021-22 season. Financially, the Leafs just do not have the cap space to keep him around, so other clubs will now have the chance to bring him in.

Mikheyev scored 21 goals and recorded 32 points in 53 games this season. With that, he is capable of playing on both the power play and penalty kill, so he offers a bit of everything. Thus, interest being so high in his services is understandable.
