NHL Rumors: Teams Calling Calgary Flames About Star Forward
While on SiriusXM NHL Network Radio, David Pagnotta reported that some teams have already called the Flames to question the availability of recently acquired winger Jonathan Huberdeau.
As I mentioned a few minutes ago on @SiriusXMNHL, some teams have already inquired about Huberdeau, wondering if Flames will consider flipping him.

Also, Huberdeau was expecting to hear from FLA on extension talks. Didn’t happen. Dealt instead.
Huberdeau was of course the major piece acquired from the Panthers in the Matthew Tkachuk blockbuster. David Dwork recently reported that Huberdeau is unhappy with the way things happened with the Panthers, as they were set to begin extension. Instead, the 29-year-old star is set to join Calgary as he enters the final year of his deal.
As the dust settles from the Panthers-Flames blockbuster, I’m told Jonathan Huberdeau isn’t particularly happy with how everything played out.

There were some early, informal extension talks, but Huby’s camp was waiting for an offer that never came. The next call was the trade.
Huberdeau just had a spectacular season, as he had 30 goals and recorded 115 points. Naturally, the Flames will want to re-sign him to a long-term extension - especially after losing both Tkachuk and Johnny Gaudreau this summer. However, that isn't stopping teams from calling about him. It seems doubtful that the Flames would part ways with their new addition so quickly. Yet, if he makes it clear that he doesn't want a new deal in Calgary, perhaps the right offer could make something happen.
