Panthers Sign Staal Brothers
Here's a fun one - the Staal brothers are heading to the Panthers. Marc Staal has signed a one-year, $750,000 contract, while Eric Staal has signed a PTO with the club.
Marc just completed his second season as a Red Wing, and it was quietly one of his best campaigns in a while. In 71 games, he scored three goals and recorded 16 points. He also was heavily praised for his strong leadership and still works quite well as a bottom-pair guy if needed.
Eric, on the other hand, wasn't able to find a home for the 2021-22 season. He did play in four games for the Iowa Wild, however, where he recorded five points. He also represented Canada at the Winter Olympics. We will be rooting for the 1,293-game veteran to get back in the NHL from here.
