Penguins Re-Sign Defenseman
Pierre-Olivier Joseph has signed a two-year contract extension with the Penguins. He will have an $825,000 cap hit.
Joseph will be pushing for a permanent spot on the Penguins' NHL roster in 2022-23. Over the last two seasons, he has played in just 20 games for the NHL squad, where he had one goal and five points. He was effective with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins this campaign, though, as he had 33 points in 61 games.
A 2017 first-round pick, Joseph is viewed as having a lot of potential. It will be intriguing to see if the 2022-23 season is finally the year where he finally gets a long-term chance with Pittsburgh.
