Re-signing Letang was one of the Penguins' biggest objectives this summer. The 35-year-old just put together another excellent season, as he had 10 goals to go along with 68 points in 78 games. That kind of campaign certainly helped land him this new long-term deal.
Letang has spent the entirety of his 941-game career as a Penguin and will retire in Pittsburgh. There's no question that there's some risk in this extension. We will have to wait and see how Father Time treats Letang from here.
