Philadelphia Flyers Re-Sign Forward
The Flyers have signed Owen Tippett to a two-year, $3 million contract extension.
Tippett was one of the main pieces that the Flyers received from the Panthers in this past season's Claude Giroux trade. The 2017 first-round pick is trying to establish himself as a top-six winger at the NHL level but has yet to at this juncture. Perhaps an entire season with the Flyers in 2022-23 can help change that.
In 63 games this past season split between the Panthers and Flyers, Tippett set new career-highs with 10 goals and 21 points. It will be intriguing to see how he builds off this campaign from here.
