Red Wings Hire New Coach

The Red Wings have hired Derek Lalonde to be their new head coach.

Lalonde has a connection with GM Steve Yzerman, as he was hired by the Hall of Famer while with the Tampa Bay Lightning. Lalonde was an assistant coach since the 2018-19 campaign, but now he will be testing his luck as a head coach for Detroit.

Let's see how Lalonde does during his first NHL head coaching job. With two Stanley Cups on his resume, he certainly has learned a lot from Jon Cooper.
