Red Wings Sign Forward

The Red Wings have officially signed Andrew Copp to a five-year contract. He will have a cap hit of $5.625 million.

Copp was linked to the Red Wings, so it isn't surprising to see a deal now finalized. When looking at the Red Wings' forward depth, Copp should have no trouble being a member of their top six. 

Copp's versatility should make him a very good addition to the Red Wings' roster. He can play all three forward positions and works well on both the power play and penalty kill. It will be intriguing to see how he performs as a Red Wing from here. Overall, good move by Detroit.
