Senators and Capitals Pull Off Trade
The Washington Capitals have added a great depth forward as the team has acquired Connor Brown from the Ottawa Senators in exchange for a second-round pick in 2024.
Brown is a work horse and someone who can play up and down the lineup. With all the latest moves in Ottawa, some wondered if the team would find room for him, but appears not. The 28-year-old has one year remaining on his contract at $3.6 million against the salary cap. There was no salary retained in the deal.
Connor Brown, acquired by WSH, is a useful top six winger who's strong at carrying and passing the puck. He's also dangerous short-handed, although his team does tend to give up extra chances against as a result. #AllCaps pic.twitter.com/TB5817dNTb

Brown was rumored to be heading to the Edmonton Oilers as those trade talks lasted a couple of days, but appears the Capitals swooped in with a better offer. As for the Senators, they were busy making moves on the opening day of free agency and appear to be trying to contend next season.
