Sharks Fire Head Coach In "Dysfunctional" Move
Insiders are wondering why it took until now, but the San Jose Sharks have let go head coach Bob Boughner and his entire staff.
Not sure what’s happening with GM search in SJ, but it appears that the Sharks have made a coaching change. Word late last night was Bob Boughner was informed he will not be returning.

Confirming @FriedgeHNIC report that Sharks coach Bob Boughner and his staff were let go last night. It really does them dirty to make this call so late in the off-season coaching carousel. More than a little dysfunction in that organization right now.

As noted by Greg Wyshynski, it gives Boughner and his staff little time to find a new job, as most of the coaching openings around the league have been filled this late into the offseason.
I've heard from several NHL players today about the Sharks firing Boughner this late in the offseason. Say what you will about the guy as a coach, but to make this decision after eight NHL head-coaching jobs have been filled this offseason is dysfunctional.

Teams have to do what they need to do, but I feel for Boughner and staff on this one. It’s late and jobs are nearly filled.

Since taking over midway through the 2019-20 season, the Sharks have a record of 67-85-23 under Boughner and have missed the playoffs every year. Most of the Sharks' offseason has been spent looking for a new general manager. Perhaps they simply forgot about the fact that they wanted to go in another coaching direction?
