Wild Sign Defenseman To Extension
The Wild have signed Jacob Middleton to a three-year, $7.35 million contract extension ($2.45 million AAV).
Middleton cemented himself as a full-time NHLer this past season and has earned himself an excellent raise because of it. In 66 games split between the Sharks and Wild, he had four goals, 10 assists, and a plus-10 rating. Now, he will be sticking with the Wild.
It isn't surprising to see that the Wild have decided to extend Middleton. His toughness made him a very solid addition to their defensive group. Furthermore, he proved to be very reliable defensively.
It will be intriguing to see what Middleton does as an encore during the 2022-23 season for the Wild. Overall, good signing by Minnesota.
