Blackhawks Sign Defenseman

The Chicago Blackhawks have finally signed their restricted free agent defenseman to a new contract.

The Blackhawks have signed defenseman Caleb Jones to a one-year deal, worth $1.35 million.

In his first season in Chicago this year, Jones scored five goals and 10 assists in 51 games. He finished with a plus-minus rating of minus three.

For his young NHL career, the twenty-five-year-old defenseman has scored 10 goals and 24 assists across 144 games.

Caleb Jones came to the Blackhawks in a July 12, 2021 trade with the Edmonton Oilers that sent Duncan Keith to Edmonton and reunited Caleb with his brother, and fellow defenseman, Seth Jones.

Jones averaged 16:43 of ice time this past season.
