Calgary Flames Sign Defenseman To PTO
The Calgary Flames have signed Josh Brook to a professional tryout contract.
Brook split this past season between the Laval Rocket (AHL) and Trois-Rivieres Lions (ECHL). In 12 games between the two leagues, he scored a goal and had 12 penalty minutes. If he inks a deal with the Flames, he will likely be utilized as an AHL defenseman.
Brook is a former second-round pick who may have some upside, however. For example, during the 2020-21 campaign, he recorded a respectable 15 points in 33 games with the Rocket. Overall, there's no harm in the Flames giving him a look. Let's see if a contract can come out of it from here.
