Florida Panthers Sign Veteran Goalie To PTO
The Florida Panthers have signed Andrew Hammond to a professional tryout contract.
Hammond got into his first NHL action since the 2017-18 season last campaign. In 11 games split between the Montreal Canadiens and New Jersey Devils, he had a 4-5-1 record, .879 SV%, and 3.89 GAA. He was quite solid with the Canadiens, however, as he sported a .920 SV% and 2.40 GAA in four appearances.
Hammond will not be pushing for a spot on their NHL roster, as the Panthers already have a Spencer Knight/Sergei Bobrovsky tandem ready to go. Yet, he could be a decent depth option to have around when injuries occur. Let's see if he can get a contact for the season from here.
