New Jersey Devils Re-Sign Winger
The New Jersey Devils and Miles Wood were set to have an arbitration meeting, but now that is no longer necessary. The Devils have signed the 26-year-old winger to a one-year, $3.2 million contract.
Wood missed all but three games last season due to hip surgery. Yet, he's a very important part of the Devils' roster, so, understandably, he's landed a pretty sweet payday. The 6-foot-2 winger is known for his nice mix of skill and physical play. The Devils will be hoping for him to be healthy in 2022-23, as the alternate captain would be a big boost to their forward group if so.
In 326 career games over seven seasons with New Jersey, Wood has 65 goals, 56 assists, 121 points, and 351 penalty minutes. It will be intriguing to see how much he improves on these numbers this upcoming campaign.
