2 Minnesota Wild Players to Miss Beginning of Season
According to Minnesota Wild GM Bill Guerin, Jordan Greenway and Jon Merrill will likely not return to the lineup until five to 10 games into the regular season.
Starting the year two players down is never ideal, but the Wild are now forced to adjust without Greenway and Merrill in their lineup. Although neither player is a star, they both are a key part of Minnesota's depth.
Greenway had himself another solid season in the Wild's top-nine, as he had 10 goals and 27 points in 62 games. Yet, the Wild will miss the 6-foot-6 winger's physicality the most while he's out.
Merrill, on the other hand, is coming off of a career year with the Wild. In 69 games, he set new career-highs with four goals, 16 assists, and 20 points. He will be aiming to replicate that in 2022-23 once healthy.
