Anaheim Ducks Top Prospect Sent To OHL

Pavel Mintyukov will be spending another season in the OHL, as the Anaheim Ducks have sent the 2022 first-round pick back to the Saginaw Spirit.

Ultimately, this is an understandable decision by the Ducks, as their defensive group is looking pretty solid heading into the season and Mintyukov is still just 18 years. Thus, it isn't a bad idea for the Russian defenseman to spend another year in junior from here.

Mintyukov will be aiming to build off of what was an excellent 2021-22 season with the Spirit. In 67 games, he had 17 goals to go along with 62 points. This kind of production from the point was very good for the youngster, and now it will be intriguing to see what he does for an encore from here.
