Arizona Coyotes Claim Goalie Off Waivers

The Arizona Coyotes have claimed Jonas Johansson off waivers from the Colorado Avalanche.

This isn't the most surprising of developments, as we recently reported that the Coyotes were looking to add a netminder before the start of the regular season. GM Bill Armstrong noted that as such and said that he would consider his options on the waiver wire. Now, he has done just that by adding Johansson to the group.

Johansson will now be competing with Jon Gillies and Ivan Prosvetov for a backup spot for the Coyotes. It's truly anyone's game for the spot, and it will be intriguing to see who comes out victorious for the role.

In 32 career NHL games, Johansson has a 9-13-4 record and .883 SV%.
