Arizona Coyotes Looking to Add to Roster
While speaking with Craig Morgan, Arizona Coyotes GM Bill Armstrong said that the club is open to adding another goaltender before the start of the regular season.
The Coyotes are heading into the 2022-23 season with Karel Vejmelka as their starting netminder. The 26-year-old had a 13-32-3 record, 3.68 GAA, and .898 SV% last season, so Arizona may be on the hunt for an upgrade. As for their backup position, career AHL netminder Jon Gillies currently has the role, but fellow AHL goaltender Christopher Gibson has a PTO. Clearly, Arizona could use an upgrade in net, and they will be looking for one.
At this point, the Coyotes are likely to grab a goalie off waivers once teams start making cuts from their training camp rosters. We will need to see what happens from here, but don't be surprised to see Arizona active.
