Arizona Coyotes Top Prospect Heading Back to WHL

Conor Geekie will be spending another season with the Winnipeg ICE, as the Arizona Coyotes have sent the 2022 first-round pick back to junior.

Ultimately, another season in the WHL isn't a bad idea for Geekie. The 6-foot-3 center is coming off of an excellent season with the ICE, where he had 24 goals and 70 points in 63 games. Yet, given the fact that he is only 18 years old, there's no need to rush him to the NHL. Thus, another year of development in Winnipeg could be beneficial for the Strathcliar native.

It will be intriguing to see how Geekie performs this campaign for the ICE. Don't be surprised to see him take that next step offensively and be on the Coyotes' NHL roster next season.
