Boston Bruins Star Skating for First Time Since Surgery
It appears that Brad Marchand is making progress with his recovery from offseason hip surgery, as the star winger is skating for the first time since receiving it on Friday. With that, he is expected to return for the Bruins after American Thanksgiving (Nov. 24th, 2022).
With this development, Marchand's recovery is staying on schedule, as it was expected that he would miss six months after having his surgery in May. Although it still stings for the Bruins that the 34-year-old will miss the beginning of the campaign, there is some optimism to be had when seeing him return to skating.
Even as he gets older, Marchand is still one of the Bruins' best players, and his 2021-22 stats show that effectively. He recorded an 80-point campaign in 70 games for the Bruins last season and followed that up with 11 points in seven playoff games. Boston will certainly need this production once he returns if they want to have any chance of being a playoff team this year. Alas, this development is a step in the right direction, at least.
