Colorado Avalanche Given Brutal Injury News
While speaking with reporters, Colorado Avalanche head coach Jared Bednar announced that Gabriel Landeskog is dealing with an injury from last season and "won't skate any time soon." With that, he will be out for the beginning of the regular season.
With the Avalanche looking to repeat as Stanley Cup champions, this is not the best news to start the 2022-23 campaign. Landeskog is their captain and leader, and it will be impossible to replace his production in the top six while he is out. In 51 games this past season, the 29-year-old scored 30 goals and recorded 59 points. With that, he had 22 points in 20 postseason games as well.
The Avalanche will now be hoping that Landeskog's recovery does not come with any setbacks. Here's to hoping that he only needs to miss a few games to start the season instead of a significant chunk of the year.
