Colorado Avalanche Sign Forward to PTO
Fresh off of signing Nathan MacKinnon to an eight-year contract extension, the Colorado Avalanche are staying busy. They are now signing Alex Galchenyuk to a professional tryout (PTO) contract, according to Peter Baugh.
The #Avs are signing Alex Galchenyuk to a PTO, per a source. He had 21 points in 60 games with Arizona last season.

There's no question that this move is far smaller than the MacKinnon extension, but this still has the potential to be a solid one by the Avalanche. Although often criticized by NHL fans around the world, Galchenyuk is still a decent secondary scorer when playing at his best. This past season, he recorded 21 points in 60 games with the Arizona Coyotes. That was with a far worse Coyotes team, however.
The Avalanche have lost forwards like Nazem Kadri, Andre Burakovsky, Nico Sturm, and Nicolas Aube-Kubel, so there are potential spots available for Galchenyuk to fight for. Let's see if he can impress the Avalanche at camp and earn himself a one-year contract in the process.
