Dallas Stars Dealing With Multiple Injuries
According to Matthew DeFranks, Dallas Stars forward Nicholas Caamano had back surgery and will be out for the next three months at least. With that, he noted that Anton Khudobin has not been cleared to play games yet.
Nick Caamano underwent back surgery yesterday and will be out three months. Gavin White broke his orbital bone, underwent surgery and there is no timetable on his return. Anton Khudobin (hip surgery) has not been cleared for games, but will be on the ice at training camp.

Caamano was heading into training camp with the goal of making Dallas' roster as a bottom-six forward. The 6-foot-3 winger has 36 games of NHL experience on his resume, where he has scored a goal and recorded two assists. His physicality and size could have made him a candidate to be an extra forward for the Stars, but this injury certainly impacts his chances of that coming to fruition to start the year.
Khudobin, on the other hand, may not be cleared for games yet, but he will be at training camp. The 36-year-old is trying to win back the backup job from Scott Wedgewood, but given the fact that the latter just inked a two-year deal with Dallas, it seems unlikely. In nine games last season, Khudobin had a 3-4-1 record and .879 SV%.
