Edmonton Oilers Prospect To Miss Camp
Heading into training camp, Raphael Lavoie was looking to impress the Edmonton Oilers and earn himself a spot on their NHL roster. Yet, that, unfortunately, will not be happening, as the 2019 second-round pick will miss camp due to injury, according to Daniel Nugent-Bowman.
This is such rough news to hear, as Lavoie needed something to go his way. The 21-year-old's development has gone slowly, but the 6-foot-4 center was aiming to take that next step starting at camp. In 56 games this past season with the Bakersfield Condors, he had 13 goals to go along with 26 points.
Here's to hoping that Lavoie can have a speedy recovery and do well enough in the AHL to earn himself a call-up in the near future. Time will tell what happens on that front.
