Edmonton Oilers Sign Forward To PTO
The Edmonton Oilers have signed Justin Bailey to a professional tryout contract (PTO).
Oilers GM Ken Holland has noted this offseason that he wants to strengthen the team's forward depth, so it isn't too surprising to see them take a look at Bailey. He is probably best described as being a depth forward, and now he will be aiming to ink a contract for the season with Edmonton from here.
Bailey spent this past season with the Vancouver Canucks. In 14 games with the NHL squad, he failed to record a point and sported a minus-5 rating. This certainly wasn't a very impressive campaign for the 6-foot-4 winger, but he did record 27 points in 30 games with the Abbotsford Canucks of the AHL.
Nevertheless, we will have to wait and see if Bailey can impress the Oilers at camp. If so, don't be surprised to see him earn himself a two-way deal with Edmonton from here.
