Former Anaheim Ducks Forward Signs Overseas
Dominik Simon is heading back to Czechia, as the 28-year-old forward has inked a two-year deal with Sparta Praha.
Simon reportedly rejected a professional tryout offer from his former club, the Pittsburgh Penguins, and has instead elected to head back home. With this, he will have a far larger role, so it ultimately is understandable as to why he decided to head overseas. This is especially true when noting that there was no guarantee that he would earn a deal with the Penguins - or any other NHL club for that matter.
Simon spent this past season split between the Penguins and Anaheim Ducks. In 72 games on the year, he had three goals to go along with 10 assists.
Nevertheless, here's to hoping Simon performs marvelously in Czechia.
