Former Buffalo Sabres Forward Heading to KHL

After playing in just one game for the Buffalo Sabres last season, Ryan MacInnis has signed a one-year deal with Amur Khabarovsk of the KHL.

MacInnis was never able to cement himself as a full-time NHL player, as he only appeared in 27 career games over three seasons between the Columbus Blue Jackets and Sabres. During them, he recorded one assist.

With the Rochester Americans last season, he scored 11 goals and recorded 27 points. Overall, it was another solid AHL campaign for the 26-year-old, but it did not result in him seeing any meaningful time with the NHL club. Thus, perhaps this move to the KHL may be what the St. Louis native needed.

Here's to hoping that MacInnis can have a big year, as it could be what leads to an NHL team taking a chance on him in 2023-24.
