Free-Agent Forward Suffers Long-Term Injury
Earlier this week, the Colorado Avalanche released Alex Galchenyuk from his PTO. Head coach Jared Bednar provided the team's reason for doing so, and it wasn't because of Galchenyuk performing poorly at camp. Instead, the former first-round pick suffered an injury and is expected to miss "a significant amount of time" because of it.
Jared Bednar said Galchenyuk got hurt which was why the #Avs had to move on. He'll miss a significant amount of time, said Bednar, who liked the forward's camp. "Just unfortunate."

Bednar also said the team might touch base with him when he gets healthy. https://t.co/1sWBgReDXs
Bednar also noted that the team might contact Galchenyuk once he is healthy. Therefore, it's clear that he did leave a pretty solid impression at camp, but his injury simply made Colorado move on from him at least for now.
It will be intriguing to see if the Avalanche do in fact contact Galchenyuk once he is healthy, but for now, his primary focus will be on recovering. Here's to hoping he can have a speedy recovery from here.
