Johnny Gaudreau's Hilarious Reaction to Blue Jackets' Cannon
Back during the 2018-19 season, Johnny Gaudreau was famously scared by the Columbus Blue Jackets' cannon. It appears that the cannon's blast still occasionally startles the star winger even after signing with the team. While speaking with reporters after Sunday's preseason game against the Pittsburgh Penguins, Johnny Hockey said that the cannon "got him" twice during the game.
Johnny Gaudreau said the cannon got him twice tonight — after the first goal and then the postgame blast as the team was celebrating the win. He didn’t know that one was coming. #CBJ

When remembering that Gaudreau signed a seven-year, $68.25 million contract with the Blue Jackets this summer, this is something that he is going to hear quite a lot of. This is especially true when noting that he is coming off of a 115-point season. Needless to say, he creates plenty of offense, and every time the Blue Jackets score, the cannon will go off.
All jokes aside, Gaudreau left a great first impression in his first preseason game as a Blue Jacket. A three-assist performance isn't too shabby, and he will be aiming to translate that to the regular season once it begins.
