Los Angeles Kings Forward to Have Hearing
Los Angeles Kings forward Jacob Doty is set to have a hearing with NHL Player Safety on Friday for Interference on San Jose Sharks forward Jeffrey Viel.
There's no question that Doty's hit was quite late. Viel had tipped the puck into the offensive zone multiple seconds before the hit occurred, so it certainly was an unexpected one. This, in turn, is likely what has led NHL Player Safety to have a hearing with Doty.

Doty is known for playing on the edge. In 41 games last season with the Ontario Reign, he had a goal and two assists, but more notably, a whopping 89 penalty minutes.
It will be intriguing to see what kind of discipline he receives for this play from here.
