If Hischier's re-evaluation ends up not being good, it seems likely that he will be out for the club's season opener against the Philadelphia Flyers. It would not be ideal for him to miss time, as the Devils are looking to be more competitive in 2022-23. If he's not around for the start of the regular season, that would leave them with a major hole down the middle, which is a recipe for disaster.
Hischier is coming off of the best season of his career, as he set new career-highs with 21 goals, 39 assists, and 60 points in 70 games last year. Here's to hoping that he will be able to build off of this very good season as soon as the campaign begins.
